    NALC President Fred Rolando announced at the Committee of Presidents Meeting at Cincinnati that the NALC and USPS were very close on agreeing to allow letter carriers to participate in a “Satchel Day” this fall to raise funds for the MDA.   “Satchel Day” would be on a Sunday and carriers would be allowed to wear their uniforms.

    It would be a road side fund raiser for those branches that join in the National effort.  Information will be released on the details when they become available.

The MDA desperately needs volunteers to be camp counselors at their 2011 summer camps. If you know of someone 18 or older that might be interested, please contact your local MDA office for an application.
